We are currently recruiting for a Line Assistant.

Salary: £18,000 to £24,000 per annum (depending on experience)


 The Position of Line Assistant is defined to be an integrated part of the AS Aerospace, Engineering Service.  


The Purpose of the role of Line Assistant is as follows:

  • Working with and supporting the Engineering team on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring the aircraft are kept clean, fuelled where necessary and out ready for their flight requirements.
  • Heading up the duty and line requirements - towing aircraft in and out of the hangar as required in readiness for their flight requirements.
  • Assisting the engineering team when needed.
  • To ensure the aircraft are received and returned in the requested manner.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To ensure aircraft are out of the hangar ready for scheduled departures, refuelled and with the correct fuel and seating configuration. 
  • Being responsible for keeping the aircraft clean as per their cleaning schedules/requirements.
  • Ensure all refuelling requests are carried out with time to spare before the aircraft are due to depart.
  • Assist the Engineering team with engineering requirements when needed, de-panelling aircraft, cleaning parts and components.
  • Ensuring the ground handling equipment is serviced, operational and safe to use.
  • Ensuring the forklift and tug are fully operational, serviced and charged.
  • Keeping on top of the general husbandry around the hangar, working with the engineers.
  • Ensure workshops are kept in a clean manner.
  • Taking a lead on the disposal of waste ensuring fuel deliveries and waste fuel are taken care of.
  • Assisting around the hangar and business where necessary, ensuring bins are emptied and the hangar is tidy.
  • Keeping all walkways safe for use, ensuring safety signs are displayed correctly when any cleaning or maintenance work is being undertaken.
  • Work alongside the engineers working on live aircraft, when other duties have been fulfilled. 

Required Qualities:

  • Enthusiastic, proactive, willing to learn and be self-motivated.
  • Be competent with the ability to work unsupervised. 
  • Positive attitude, flexible and good interpersonal skills.
  • An aviation enthusiast, who is at home working on a busy airfield, with a dynamic helicopter maintenance facility.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail when it comes to valeting and keeping customers aircraft in a show room condition.
  • A clean driving licence is required.
